As
with North Andros, most of the activities and accommodation to the
south are centered around hotels and resorts. A prime spot for beauty
and isolation, the refurbished Seascape Inn in Moxey Town (phone
242/369-0342 or 1-800/688-4752; US$100-130) offers both rooms and
cottages, excellent breakfasts and dinners, and a popular bar. In
Kemp's Bay, the Royal Palm Beach Lodge (phone 242/369-1608 or
1-800/688-4752, fax 242/369-1934, US$50-75)
has ten rooms, a courtyard, palm tree décor and a small bar and
restaurant.
The
area's premier luxury resort, located between Drigg's Hill and Congo
Town, is Emerald Palms by the Sea (phone 242/369-2661 or
1-800/688-4752, fax 242/369-2667; US$100-130), featuring twenty
rooms and two suites. Bonefishing, hiking, blue-hole swimming, and
kayak tours are all available, along with diving equipment rental.

The
resort also offers a fine restaurant serving an eclectic blend of
European and Bahamian cuisines, though the area has a few other good
dining options as well.
Congo
Town's Square Deal and Flamingo Club are solid
choices, and in Drigg's Hill, the Blue Bird Club (phone 242/369-4546)
offers decent food and nightly dancing. In Kemp's Bay, Big J's on
the Bay (phone 242/369-1954) is the most popular place to eat, while
Cabana Beach Bar and Lewis' Bar are good watering holes.
