The largest parish on the island, but with less than half the population of busy Christ Church, St Philip has a different feel from its more visited neighbor, with no crowds, far less development and a general sense of isolation.

The coastline here is rugged, with only a handful of white-sand beaches divided from each other by long cliffs and rocky outcrops. The sea is rough, too, with pounding Atlantic waves.

If you're relying on public transport , buses run along the south coast road as far as the hotel known as Sam Lord's Castle , passing the Crane Beach Hotel , though if you're heading for any of the beaches, you'll need to walk down to them from the main road - usually around 500m.
