Some of the hotels have fancy bars, several of which offer happy
hours, while back from the main street are a couple of small
cantinas where you can buy a beer or a bottle of rum and drink
with the locals. Sandals Bar , on the side street between
Martha's Hotel and the park, is a friendly, long-established bar
serving tasty ceviche and barbecue in the evenings. For the
best beachside happy hour (5-7pm), head for Crazy Canuk Bar
at the Exotic Caye Resort , where the resident band will get
you in the party mood.
Big Daddy's
disco , in and around a beach bar near the main dock, has
early evening piano, and a lively reggae band later on; happy hour
runs from 5 to 9pm. Tarzan's Disco and Nite Club , opposite
the park, has the best dance floor, while the new, air conditioned
Barefoot Iguana , on Coconut Drive just south of the Yacht
Club, is home to San Pedro's biggest disco. Beyond here to the
right, the tiny Black and White Reggae Bar is the focal point
for the island's Garífuna community and a good place to enjoy
drumming and punta rock.
