courtyard.
Elvi's Kitchen
, across the road from Martha's hotel. The place for seafood,
burgers and fries, accompanied by delicious, licuado -like
fruit drinks. Slick service and up market prices.
Jade Garden
, Coconut Drive, south of town. The town's best Chinese restaurant -
and good value, too.
JamBel
, on the park, next to Big Daddy's Disco . A friendly,
good-value place serving a very tasty blend of Jamaican and Belizean
specialties, such as jerk chicken, pork, fish and curry, washed down
with Belikin or Red Stripe.

, near the north end of Pescador. Good Belizean food, including
delicious seafood, at great prices.

Cafe

Delicious home-made cakes, pies and sandwiches, and freshly
brewed coffee. Opens at 6am, so it's a good place to order a
packed lunch if you're going on a trip.
Sweet Basil
, 500m north of Boca Rio (phone 226-3869). A gem of a café and deli
and well worth making the effort to visit. Great pasta, seafood,
salads, Italian specialties and the best selection of cheeses in
Belize. Closed Mon.
George's Country Kitchen
, south of town, behind the Corona Del Mar hotel. Large
portions of good seafood, Tex-Mex and Belizean dishes, and always a
great daily special, served in a small palapa with a sand
floor. A bargain for the island
