The people of San Ignacio are justifiably proud of their beautiful
river valley and the surrounding countryside, and there's plenty of
outdoor action on offer, from relaxing canoe trips along the
mostly gentle Macal River to tubing or kayaking along the
faster Mopan River.
The nearby farmland and forest is ideal for exploring on
horseback or mountain bike and caving is
increasingly popular.
You can easily use San Ignacio as a base for day-trips with the tour
operators we've listed, but if you'd like to stay in the countryside,
lodges, guesthouses and ranches in the area offer cottage-style accommodation and organized trips. |
