Set alongside a picturesque harbor on the west coast, the
tiny capital of Kralendijk ("coral dike" in Dutch) is
Bonaire's commercial centre and the first stop for anyone
visiting the island.
Marked by a few low-rise buildings painted in pretty pastel
colors and a handful of narrow streets, the town holds most
of the island's government buildings, shops, hotels,
restaurants and bars.
There's not much to do or see in town, other than shop or
dine at the restaurants, many of which are on the
waterfront.
The town's couple of historical buildings and small cultural
museum won't take more than an hour or two to
explore.
