For many years, the eastern side of the island had nothing
to offer visitors. Now, you'll find several good bars and
restaurants on Beef Island's Trellis Bay, which has a decent
beach whose breezes make it a good place to learn to
windsurf, in East End itself and in the rising star of the
area, Fat Hog's Bay.
The beaches on the east of the island are among its most
secluded and peaceful. Josiah's Bay Beach is the surfers'
favorite but even if you don't hang ten, it's worth a day
trip. Start early with a great beachside breakfast at
Naomi’s, before exploring the dramatic beach and
body-surfing the killer waves.

On your way back, stop at Josiah's Bay Plantation to walk
through the ruins, check out the artwork in the gallery and
enjoy a late lunch on the patio of the Secret Garden.
