Búzios is just over 8 km long. The city entrance features
the new Búzios Gates, a stylish house where you can get all
the tourist information you may need, from the local tourist
office employees.
The beaches, main roads and inns got new signs. It's not
hard to find your way. José Bento Ribeiro Dantas Road is the
main road and runs through most of the city, going from the
city entrance all the way to Ossos beach. When the road
reaches downtown, it is known as the famous Rua das Pedras.
A bit after it becomes the pretty Bardot Beachfront, which
leads to Ossos. From there you have access to Azeda Beach,
one of the prettiest in Búzios.
From José Bento Ribeiro Dantas Road, before downtown,
several secondary roads branch off leading to beaches such
as Geribá, Tartaruga, and Ferradura, amongst others. Geribá
has several access roads. The main is at the Manguinhos
Square, a neighborhood that offers lots of stores,
drugstores and supermarkets. Manguinhos Square is about 800
meters after the City Entrance.
Access to Ferradura Beach is by Ferradura Square, down by
the Esso (Exxon) gas station. 300 meters before that, to the
left, you will see the access to Tartaruga Beach.

to beautiful beaches, such as João Fernandes, Forno and
Braa.
If you aren't by car, the city has mini-busses that run down
the whole main road (J. B. Ribeiro Dantas Road). Transport
ans also do the same course. Taxis can also be caught
easily downtown to any beach or place in town. A ride from
downtown (Rua das Pedras) to João Fernandes or Geribá, for
example, takes about 5 minutes and costs around R$ 10.00.
Another option is to take a city-tour and see several points
and beaches at once. But to enjoy and get to know all the
places better, the ideal is to be by car or to rent one,
because though the city is relatiely small, the beaches are
distant from each other.
