Hurricanes Disco
Breezes, Gloucester Avenue. Flashy in-hotel club,
with dancehall, Euro-techno and R&B until dawn. Heaving on
Saturday, with the gigolos out in full force. Cover J$500,
including all drinks and the first one hundred women get in
for free.
Margaritaville
Gloucester Avenue tel 876/953-4777. Hugely popular bar, club
and restaurant that usually draws the biggest evening crowd.
Lively themes each evening; Friday and Saturday are party
nights, with a mostly Jamaican crowd and lots of dancehall,
R&B, hip-hop and even house; there's live music upstairs
too.
Fabulous bay views but an irritating token payment system
for drinks, which include 52 different flavors of margarita.
If you're looking for guaranteed action this is the place,
and if you don't mind gigolos galore and sun burnt tourists
it's great fun. Dance floor opens at 10pm; cover charge
varies. Call ahead for pickups from local hotels.

Pier 1
Howard Cook Boulevard. Oldies on the boardwalk during the
week (free) and a pumping club on the weekends; Friday is
busiest, with upfront dancehall and R&B until dawn. The
club's a bit rough round the edges but entertaining
nevertheless. On Thursday and Sunday Sharky's party
boat goes out to sea (9pm-midnight) for an all-inclusive
cover of US$7.
Platinum
Gloucester Avenue. Thoroughly Jamaican club, playing
dancehall, hip-hop and R&B for a mostly local crowd. Best
experienced in the company of somebody local.
