Hwy-157 comes to a dead end shortly after Cathedral Rock, looping
around the parking lot of Mount Charleston Lodge.
This large and
unexciting Southwestern restaurant is usually packed with day-trippers, but if
you can get a table on the terrace - which tends to be closed off due to ice in
winter - you'll be treated to fine views over the canyon and up to Charleston
Peak.
The comfortably appointed log cabins alongside the parking lot are
rented out by the night, and are popular with honeymooners escaping Las Vegas. |
