Although the northern boundary of the Land and Sea Park lies at the
Wax Cay Cut, the Exuma chain continues to the northwest for another
ten miles. The Northern Exumas , however, are most easily reached
from Nassau, forty miles to the west.
Three companies offer day trips to the cays, departing from the dock on
Paradise Island. Island World Adventures (tel 242/394-8960, fax
363-1657) makes a daily excursion to Saddleback Cay in a 45ft speedboat,
Out Island Voyages (tel 242/394-0951 or 1-800/241-4591, fax
242/394-0948, balymena@bahamas.net.ba ) offers sailboat journeys out to
the cays, and Powerboat Adventures (tel 242/327-5385, fax 393-7029,
info@poweradventures.com ) leads a full-day outing to the Sail Rocks and
Allan's cays, including snorkeling, a barbecue lunch on the beach, and a
visit with the islands' resident giant iguanas.
