The oldest of the Stations chain, Palace Station is also the closest to the Strip, standing less than a mile west along Sahara Avenue. Originally known as simply The Casino, it opened in 1976 and was renamed in 1983.

It now feels more claustrophobic and less appealing than its younger siblings, but with its inexpensive restaurants and emphasis on slots it established the formula for their common success.
