Wonders of India

Taj Mahal
Simply the world's greatest building: Shah Jahan's monument to love fully lives up to all expectations.

 Humayun’s Tomb
The tomb established some of the important norms for later Mughal mausolea. It is set in a geometrically arranged garden criscrossed by numerous water channels and probably representing symbolically a paradise setting.

 India Gate
The entire monument is extremely beautiful and the arch stands on a low base of red Bharatpur stone which rises in stages to a huge molding.

 Jama Masjid
Situated in the ancient town of Old Delhi, the Jama or Jama Masjid is the final architectural extravaganza of the Mughal Emperor, Shahjahan.

 Qutab Minar
Beautiful calligraphy adorns the adjacent edifices. The Minar rises over 230 feet and can be ascended by a circular stairway for a view that is breathtaking. The monument tapers from a 15-meter diameter base to just 2˝ metres at the top.

 Shore Temple
The shore temples at Mahabalipuram, a coastal village 50 km south of Madras, were built in the 7th century, during the reign of Rajasimha, and they depict the final flowering of Pallava art.

 Chaminar
The Charminar in Hyderabad, at the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, is a massive arch built by Mohammed Quli Qutab Shah, in 1591 to commemorate the end of the plague in the city.

 Agra Fort
The high red sandstone ramparts of this great monument stretch for almost 2.5 kilometers, dominating a bend in the river Yamuna, northwest of the Taj Mahal

 Red Fort
The largest of Old Delhi's monuments is Lal Quila or Red Fort whose thick red sandstone walls, bulging with turrets and bastions, have withstood the vagaries of time and nature.

 Victoria Memorial
The white marble building at the Southern end of Calcutta's maidan continues to be the city's pride and joy. The Victoria Memorial, with its formal gardens and water courses was conceived by Lord Curzon to commemorate the British Empire at its peak.

 Jantar Mantar
A unique structure raised in 1724, now lies in the heart of Delhi's commercial centre near Connaught place. This is the Jantar Mantar, one of several astronomical observatories raised by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur.

 Amber Palace
The palace or the royal apartments lies inside the massive Amber fort complex with gateways, gardens, halls, stairways, pillared pavilions, temples and palaces
